back to the roots.

20 Oct

as much as i love living in a big city like berlin, i love being in the nature.

i need to breathe the fresh air of the woods every once in a while and soothe my eyes with the lush shades of green that only nature can provide.

two weeks ago i went back home to my parents’ as it was daddy’s 70th birthday and i took some time to walk and inhale.

and exhale.

and those autumn flowers. big love.

so, come with me as i travel back in my memory. to my journey. and to my roots.

homeward bound >>>>>>>>

there’s a very special violet that only grows in the area where i come from cause parts of the ground are leaded there. that’s why the violets are yellow instead of purple ❤ >>>>>>

come away with me.

23 Sep

is there anything more soothing than the sea breeze? the wind playing with your hair. salt tingling on your skin. seagulls. vastness. aaahhh!

i don’t think so there’s anyithing more soothing and comforting. except for maybe my mum making me a cup of warm milk with candied sugar. but mum wasn’t there, so marco and me drove all the way up north to the island rügen in the baltic sea.

and once you’re on your way, you don’t need anything but a good friend, a chilled playlist (which your friend LOVES to sing along to, although he knows hardly any of the songs), a fantastic book and a nice hotel right by the sea with spa and sauna (in case you want to ask me AGAIN: yes, us germans go into the sauna NAKED and no, there’s nothing sexual about it).

so let me take you on my weekend trip, listen to my playlist and hear the seagull’s cry.

be sure to wear some flowers in your hair. (updated)

“earth laughs in flowers”, ralph waldo emerson said.

and it is true, i think. i grew up with them in my grandparents tremendously huge garden (of course, it looked much huger to me because i was so little. but it was big anyways)

my grandma loved flowers and she taught me all the names. i think, i could say “dahlia” before i said “mama”. well, that’s a slight exaggeration, i guess. but that’s what it feels like. it feels like flowers have always been there. that my path through life has been lined by flowers ever since grandma took me on her wrinkly dry hand and showed me her garden.

so now i am sitting here. i’m 33. i became an actress. but i always wanted to grow and sell flowers.

who knows…. maybe i’ll get back to that one day.

this post is dedicated to them flowers and their beauty and perfection.

which is your favourite flowers, peeps? ❤

the great thing about blogging is that you can update posts. my dear riccci has asked me to show a photo of me when i was little and here we go. that was the summer before i started to go to school in spain where my aunt lives. between a beautiful bougainvillea. a plant that will always resemble summer on the canary  islands to me ❤

i’m spending to days at my parents’ place in western germany before mum and i hit the german’s favourite island tomorrow.

mallorca.

we do this once every year and i can’t wait for the sea and the sand and summerbreezes and sundowners and a little summer fling would be nice too.

meanwhile i will leave you with some countrylife impressions.

be well, my friends.

it’s obvious where i went to today. the museum für naturkunde (the berlin natural history museum). i haven’t been there since twenty years and it was on my schedule for quite a while now. so despite the fact that it was saturday (and i was very aware that there would be hordes of loud and – let’s be honest – annoying little kids there), i went. berlin is drowning in rain, so i figured that was nothing better to do. especially as i’ve been ill the past week and couldn’t stand seeing my apartment anymore.

so off i went. and yes. it was loud and i was quite busy not to step on one of those lovely cuties…

and i got carried away.

in the middle of preserved specimen, the mechanisms of evolution and the world of the dinosaurs, i flew through my own dream of sound and poetry. a huge painting of all kinds of colors and tunes. and all of a sudden i didn’t hear anything else around me anymore. nevertheless i plan to go back soon. maybe on a tuesday and wednesday morning and have another look.

inhale. exhale.

14 Mar

20130314-142659.jpg

this is my first post that i upload from my phone.
my beloved friend (and since yesterday sister, will talk about that later) nana and me are going to barcelona for a few days and i want to try if blogging from a mobile device (which is not an ipad but a phone) is working.

i just took this photo on my terrace. the sun was so beautifully fighting against the clouds and my crystals were observing the scene just like i did.
just a little note to myself (and to you too if you allow) that even on a thursday 2:30 pm (or whatever time it might be where you are), you can pause a minute
focus on your breath.
inhale, exhale. and simply be.
hope you have a great day, my friends wherever you are 💗

when the birds come back.

first you hear them cry, then you look up and you see them in a perfect formation.

it is late autumn and the wild geese leave the country to go to warmer areas for the winter.

Bild

and then: winter. long. cold. grey. sometimes white. the nature rests. the city is freezing. snow falls and melts. and falls again. pretty and white. and the dirt of the concrete jungle turns everything grey.

last week. early morning. the sun was shining, i was outside. and i could hardly believe when i heard them again. i looked up. and: there they were. coming back.

already? i thought.

hello, little wild geese. i do hope it’s not too early. cause the winter came back today. and only god knows when it’s finally spring ❤

Bild

happy weekend to you, lovelies. have you seen the wild geese yet? ❤
